Red Leaf River Inn is owned and operated by Georgina and Victor Johnston, along with their sons, Alexander and Nikolas. They have lived all over the northern and eastern United States and settled in North Carolina in 2014 after searching through multiple states for the perfect B&B location. They envisioned a bed and breakfast where every guest is welcomed like family (don’t worry, they won’t ask you to do the dishes) and made to feel at home. They don’t do lists of rules, curfews, or doilies.
Georgina and her husband Victor both bring extensive culinary backgrounds to the Inn. Originally from the beautiful state of Hawaii, Georgina is a trained pastry chef with 16 years of experience in food service. She specializes in handmade chocolates and custom wedding cakes and has a baking and pastry degree from the Culinary Institute of America. Outside the kitchen, she enjoys reading and exploring the gorgeous Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountain ranges.
Victor was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He has more than 30 years of experience working in kitchens all over the country, exposing himself to many different cuisines, but even more importantly to the opportunity to work with and meet many different people and learn about the food service industry. He specializes in event planning and catering. He has catered every kind of event from small, personalized dinners to large banquets for 1000 people or more, as well as organizing and running many charity related events. He also spends much of his time restoring and renovating the Inn while enjoying his hobby of woodworking. His hobby has led to the design and creation of many pieces in and around the Inn.
Georgina and Victor married in 2008 and have since been blessed with two wonderful boys, Alexander (7) and Nikolas (4). Both boys enjoy Legos, books, and showing guests around the Inn.
